Stepping Stones

Every Sunday during the school term ‘Stepping Stones’ meets at 10.00am. Between Easter Sunday and Remembrance Sunday we meet in The Chanonry (two doors down from the Cathedral gates on the left hand side as you face the Cathedral) and in Little Dunkeld Kirk from Remembrance to Palm Sunday.

Designed for children of all ages, we open with a short time of worship and then divide into age groups – Rocks and Pebbles. Parents who join in the worship also have their group with the minister when we explore the Bible passage the children are learning about. At present we are using Scripture Union’s Sunday School programme.

At around 10.40 the groups stop for juice and biscuits then the children join the start of the 11.00am service, leaving after the second hymn.

Through the year various other events are organised – a Christmas party or visit to the Pantomime, a summer picnic, occasional ‘Fundays’ when new members are invited to join in. The emphasis is very much on learning and informality. No one is too young or too old. The youngest attended so far has been a three day old baby!

For more information please contact the minister, Fraser Penny
