Every Sunday during the school term ‘Stepping Stones’ takes place in parallel with the morning service, leaving after the second hymn.
Between Easter Sunday and Remembrance Sunday we meet in The Chanonry (above photo: two doors down from the Cathedral gates on the left hand side as you face the Cathedral) and in Little Dunkeld Kirk from Remembrance to Palm Sunday.
Designed for children of all ages, we open with a short time of worship and then divide into age groups – Rocks and Pebbles. Parents who join in the worship also have their group with the minister when we explore the Bible passage the children are learning about. At present we are using Scripture Union’s Sunday School programme.
At around 10.40 the groups stop for juice and biscuits then the children join the start of the 11.00am service, leaving after the second hymn.
Through the year various other events are organised – a Christmas party or visit to the Pantomime, a summer picnic, occasional ‘Fundays’ when new members are invited to join in. The emphasis is very much on learning and informality. No one is too young or too old. The youngest attended so far has been a three day old baby!

The Community Care Group runs the Meeting Place on a Friday morning in the Duchess Anne. If you in Dunkeld between 10and 12 on a Friday please drop in for coffee and a cake - you will be made very welcome. There is no set charge but people are asked just to put in a reasonable donation to cover the cost of their refreshments.
Also, every second Tuesday, the Community Care group organises a lunch for elderly folk in the Parish who are on their own. Regularly about 50 people come to the Duchess Anne and get a marvellous lunch followed by tea and cake but more importantly, it gives a good opportunity to get together and meet friends. Transport is arranged for those who need it and a donation of £2.50 is asked from people to cover costs.

- Puzzle over issues of faith and life
- Listen to what the Bible says about these things.

This series is about Christianity and Islam.
On October 2nd. we start with 'What Muslims Actually Believe? led by Imam Vali Hussein and John Clark.
Vali Hussein is Imam at Dundee Central Mosque and John Clark, also from the Dundee area has been involved in groups building up Christian-Muslim relations for a number of years now.
Imam Hussein, in conversation with John, will give an introduction to Muslim belief and practices. There will also be an opportunity for discussion and questions.
On November 20th. we look at 'The Gender issue.'
There is plenty in the newspapers about attitudes to women within Islam while, over the centuries, the church has not always had a spotless reputation in its attitudes towards women.
Nasim Azad & Tasnim Rafiq from ‘Beyond the Veil’ and Lesley Orr, a Christian theologian and researcher, will lead this session on attitudes to women within Christianity and Islam.
Bridging the Gap is held in the Birnam Institute and starts at 7pm. All are welcome from any church background or no church background.
